Description:

Krrish 3 is a 2013 Bollywood superhero science fiction film produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan. It is the third installment in the superhero franchise which started with Koi... Mil Gaya (2003) and Krrish (2006). The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra, and Kangna Ranaut in the lead roles. 
Krrish 3 was initially scheduled to release in 3D format but due to lack of time, the process for converting the film to 3D was scrapped. However, the director (Rakesh Roshan) mentioned that the movie will only release in 2D format. Krrish 3 was released worldwide on 1st November, 2013. The movie has recieved mixed reviews from critics in India and Overseas. Visual effects of Krrish 3 were highly praised by both audience and critics which were provided by Shahrukh Khan's production company and VFX house "Red Chillies". Roshan's and Ranaut's performance in the movie was also praised by the critics. Krrish 3 was declared 'Blockbuster' in India in the first week grossing over 200 crores in 7 days and netting over 150 crores in India itself.

Plot:


Krrishna (Hritik Roshan), his wife (Priyanka Chopra) and his scientist father live together happily in India until a dark force arrives (KAAL) and creates mayhem in India by spreading a deadly virus in Mumbai. Now, it is upto Krrish and his father to save the world and their own family from the evil (KAAL) and his team of mutants created by fusion of his own DNA, particularly the evil Kaya (Kangna Ranaut).

The movie released on November 1 on the occasion of diwali. The movie opened to a thunderous Boxoffice response garnering more than 145 crores nett in 7 days. The movie was declared blockbuster in 7 days grossing over 200 crores worldwide and it netted approx. 150 crores in India itself.

Film can now beat the lifetime business of 3 Idiots but catching up with the lifetime boxoffice collections of "Chennai Express" is right now, a very tough call to make. Chennai Express stands at 228 crores nett in India and it grossed over 420 crores worldwide. Krrish 3 has the potential to easily cross 300 crores worldwide and it may also garner collections upto 215-220 crores in India. But it is believed that it may not go near the mammoth 420 cr.

My Review:

The movie "Krrish 3'' released worldwide on November 1st...also on the occasion of diwali in India. The movie opened to a thunderous Boxoffice response garnering more than 150 crores nett in 7 days !! The movie had a great second weekend accumulating near 20 crores (INR). If the movie continues to run like this, it will be collecting a total of 30+ crores in its second week. As for my review of the movie, i think it was a good script with a nice drama, above-average Visual effects and a below-average music album. Obviously, you can't expect stunning hollywood like vfx from a movie made with a budget of 100 crores ($20 million). It is an undeniable fact that Hollywood has the best vfx production companies in the world and their superhero movies have budgets over $200 million (over a 1000 crores INR). Another fact is that their promotions and screen count to release the film is very much higher around the globe.

I think that Krrish 3 is an action-packed and a fast paced film and clearly a great and somewhat successful attemt by the Roshans towards technology. Krrish 3 reminded me of the movie Ra.One starring Shahrukh Khan which was released in October, 2011. The story of Ra.One was highly criticised although it's visual effects and Khan's performance in the film was praised not only by the Indian critics but also from the critics and news reporters from around the world.

Hritik does a great job handling both the roles with perfection and Kangana, in fact, completely upstages the film’s lead actress. Her presence is far sharper and more impactful. Vivek Oberoi did an excellent job portraying the role of "Kaal" but i really think this super villian should have been atleast given a good costume at the end of the movie....lol. The scrap metal idea was a little off. 

The long and showy climactic duel between the superhero and the villain weighs down the last 30 minutes of Krrish 3 which looked like a spinoff of the last scene in "Man Of Steel" :p. Overall i think Krrish 3 is a good movie to enjoy with family & friends and movies like this with good graphics and technological advancements should be made more often for the betterment of the Bollywood Industry.
