Description:

Dedh Ishqiya is an upcoming 2014 Indian comedy thriller film directed by Abhishek Chaubey starring Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Naseeruddin Shah, and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles. It is a sequel of Ishqiya and is produced by Raman Maroo and Vishal Bharadwaj. The trailer of the film was released on November 8, 2013 and the film will be releasing worldwide on January 10, 2014.

Plot:

"Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah)and Babban (Arshad Warsi), the two romantic thieves are back in Dedh Ishqiya, sequel to the acclaimed and successful Ishqiya with their romantic adventures."

Trivia: 

It’s been more than six years since Madhuri Dixit was last seen in a full-fledged role on the big screen. Set to make her return in 'Dedh Ishqiya', the actress reveals the reason why she signed the film. 

Actress Madhuri Dixit, who will be seen on the big screen after 2007 film Aaja Nachle, says she chose to be part of "Dedh Ishqiya" because she has faith in the makers of the film - Vishal Bhardwaj and Abhishek Chaubey. 

After the success of 2010 movie "Ishqiya", director Chaubey teamed up with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who has produced "Dedh Ishqiya". 

"I didn't wait for seven years for the script. I have my reasons. I was not even living here before. I was staying abroad so to come here and work and go back was getting very tedious," Madhuri Dixit told IANS.

Dedh Ishqiya opened with below average with a screen count of 1000–1200.

It collected INR27.5-30 million (US$−480,000) on its opening day.

The film grossed around INR11.5 crore (US$1.8 million) in first weekend.

Dedh Ishqiya collected around INR1.75 crore (US$280,000) nett on first Monday taking its four day total to INR13.25 crore (US$2.1 million).

Dedh Ishqiya earned INR27.50 crore (US$4.4 million) nett domestic box office by end of 3 week.

Dedh Ishqiya also failed to collect well in its second week and in its third week it lost almost all of its screens to Jai Ho. 

The film was made on a budget of around 41 crore including its print and advertising. Dedh Ishqiya only managed to recover 13.2 crore from its domestic theatrical business which is less than half its investment, hence The movie was declared as a flop by the major trades and box office sites.
