The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is an upcoming 2014 Science-Fiction /Adventure/Action film directed by the famous Francis Lawrence and written by Danny Strong and Peter Craig. It is the first of two cinematic parts based on the novel Mockingjay, the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins, and the third installment in The Hunger Games film series. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. It is the sequel to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and will be followed by the concluding film, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.

If you were hoping that the filmmakers would be significantly changing Collins story, let director Francis Lawrence disabuse you of that notion. “The truth is that we’re making the book,” he told BuzzFeed. "We’re not reinventing the book in any way. These people, if they start out damaged in Catching Fire, they’re much more damaged by the beginning of Mockingjay. And the movie does go to dark places at times..."

In "Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, "we follow heroine Katniss Everdeen's journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance." 

Plot:

"Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice, but even though she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. President Snow makes it clear that no one is safe either - not Katniss's family, not her friends and not the people of District 12.."
