Description:
A Walk Among the Tombstones is an upcoming 2014 American Action/Crime/Drama film based on a novel by Lawrence Block of the same name. The film is directed and written by Scott Frank and stars Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, Boyd Holbrook, Ruth Wilson and Sebastian Roché. The film is scheduled to be released on September 19, 2014.
Plot:
"Based on Lawrence Block’s bestselling series of mystery novels, A Walk Among the Tombstones stars Liam Neeson as Matt Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop who now works as an unlicensed private investigator operating just outside the law. When Scudder reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker (Dan Stevens) hunt down the men who kidnapped and then brutally murdered his wife, the PI learns that this is not the first time these men have committed this sort of twisted crime... nor will it be the last. Blurring the lines between right and wrong, Scudder races to track the deviants through the backstreets of New York City before they kill again."
Frank has helmed some great projects & have been working on very well received movies in his time ("Get Shorty," "Out of Sight," "Minority Report") and his directorial debut, "The Lookout," was very well-received in 2007. I've been looking forward to this one for a while, even happened upon the set in downtown New York last April. It's set for a mid-September release so we could potentially see it pop up at the Toronto Film Festival later this year.
