Paddington is an upcoming 2014 Family/CG live-action film directed by Paul King. The film is financed by StudioCanal, which is also handling distribution in France, Germany and the U.K., along with handling world sales.

That icon of children's literature, Paddington the bear, will make his way into theaters for Christmas 2014. TWC-Dimension announced that Paddington, a CG-live action film, will be released in the U.S. on Dec 12, 2014.

The film is produced by Gravity and Harry Potter producer David Heyman and stars Colin Firth as the voice of the famous red bear and also stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Julie Walters.

The CGI-live action film is inspired from the book series first published in 1958. Paddington books have sold more than 35 million copies in 40 languages.

The story follows Peruvian bear Paddington as he tries to find a home in the city of London. He's taken in by the Brown family, but his safety is threatened when a villainous museum curator takes notice of the bear.

Plot:

"PADDINGTON tells the adventures of a young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British, who travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realise that city life is not all he had imagined until he meets the kindly Brown family. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum curator."

Paddington (voiced by Colin Firth) grew deep in the Peruvian jungle with his aunt Lucy. Since Lucy once had the opportunity to meet an English adventurer, she has used her nephew a very unique way: She taught him to cook jam, listening to the BBC World Service and raved about an exciting life in London. When an earthquake destroyed her home sees Lucy the right time has come to make a better life Paddington and smuggles him onto a ship heading towards London. Assuming that all unknowns Paddington encounter during his journey with courtesy, she hangs him only a sign saying "Please look after this bear. Thank you! ". But must arrive at the London Underground station Paddington station the little bear to realize that he is probably overwhelmed with the city life. Cute Brown family, which finds him there, reads the sign and takes him to himself. Paddington seems still to have happiness. But the bear is unaware of the misadventures he has next...
