Description:

The Book of Life is an upcoming 2014 3D computer-animated film produced by Reel FX Creative Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Jorge Gutierrez is writing and directing the film, which will feature the voices of Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna and Christina Applegate. The film is scheduled to be released on October 17, 2014.

The movie will hit the theaters on the weekend of Halloween.

Plot:

"Set in a fantastical, colorful world, The Book of Life is the story of a young man who must face his greatest fears and follow his heart in order to rewrite his destiny. Filled with love, laughter, music and suspense, this big adventure for the whole family will warm the hearts of audiences as it reminds everyone of the importance of honoring the past while embracing the future."

Book of Life was originally optioned by DreamWorks Animation in 2007, but never went beyond development because of "creative differences". Later on in February, 2012, it was announced Guillermo del Toro would produce the film, originally titled Day of the Dead.
