Description:

Serena is an upcoming 2014-15 American drama film based upon the novel of the same name by American author Ron Rash. The film is directed by Susanne Bier and stars Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper as newlyweds Serena and George Pemberton.

The film is yet to get an official release date in USA, although it will release in the UK on October 24, 2014.

Plot Outline:

The film follows newlyweds George (Bradley Cooper) and Serena Pemberton (Jennifer Lawrence) who travel from Boston to the mountains of North Carolina where they begin to build a timber empire in 1929. Serena soon shows herself to be the equal of any man: overseeing crews, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving a man’s life in the wilderness. Together, this king and queen rule their dominion, killing or vanquishing all who stand in the way of their ambitions. But when Serena learns that she can never bear a child, she sets out to murder the woman who bore George a son before his marriage. And when she starts to suspect that George is protecting his illegitimate family, the Pembertons’ intense, passionate marriage begins to unravel as the story moves toward its shocking reckoning.

Between Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper made another movie together: The Depression-era drama Serena. Never heard of it? That’s because Serena, which was shot two years ago, still doesn’t have a trailer, a film-festival slot, or a U.S. distributor. All that exists is a just-announced U.K. release date of Oct. 24, and a couple of photos, including the above shot of Lawrence on a horse, published today by Stylist.
