Description:

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an upcoming 2014 superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb and released by Columbia Pictures. It is a sequel to the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man and was announced in 2011. James Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay and Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci re-wrote the script. Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone will reprise their roles. Other cast members include Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Denis Leary, Colm Feore, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Zylka, Marton Csokas, and Felicity Jones.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 went into development after the success of The Amazing Spiderman in 2011. The film is scheduled to be released in 2D and 3D formats on May 2, 2014.

Plot:

"Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. He struggles to keep his promise and leave Gwen Stacy out of his life. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner. Things will change for Spider-Man when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend "Harry Osborn" (Dane DeHaan) returns and Peter uncovers new clues about his past."

Actor Jamie Foxx previously revealed Electro’s backstory In an interview with MTV:

You’ll see his whole life is just no one is talking to him, people have stolen his ideas at the company, he’s a nobody. And at a certain point Spider-Man bumps into him and says, ‘You’re my guy, you’re my ears and eyes on the street,’ and he says his name, Max, and no one’s ever said Max Dillon’s name, and he goes ‘Wow.’ And so when Spider-Man leaves he sort of thinks that somehow, ‘I am Spider-Man’s partner,’ and so he starts cutting out his face and pasting it on his board at home. When everything goes bad, his mom doesn’t remember his birthday, I mean all these crazy things happen until finally he has something tragic happen, and then when it turns on he lights it up.
