Heartless: Bombs at the Indian Boxoffice !!
Conspiraxy thrillers are pretty rare in Bollywood and we pinned our hopes on Shekhar Suman's directorial debut Heartless, starring his son Adhyayan, along with Deepti Naval, Om Puri and newcomer Ariana Ayam. The movie released on February 7 and hit about 800 screens all over the country. The movie had a poor start in spite of a great storyline - essentially borrowed from the American crime/supernatural/conspiracy thriller 'Awake' released in 2007.
Considering the budget of the movie and just average responses, it did not collected its cost.
Surprisingly,Heartless grossed a little over Rs 1 crore in the opening weekend and finished its very disappointing run at 1.50 crore.
Plot:
"Aditya Singh (Adhyayan Suman) is a business tycoon and is in love with a girl named Ria (Ariana Ayam), his mother's personal assistant. Aditya requires a heart transplant and the doctor who is asked to perform the surgery of Aditya is a heart surgeon and also his friend. Aditya and Ria marry privately at midnight, before the surgery and then he goes to the hospital for the operation. While Aditya's new wife and his mother, (Deepti Naval) await completion of his surgery, Aditya encounters anesthesia awareness (a condition where a patient cannot move his body, but can hear and understand all that's happening around him/her. The person can also feel the pain in the body but cannot express it). From there on, begins a new chapter of love, trust, betrayal and sacrifice."
