The Quiet Ones is a 2014 British Hammer horror film directed by John Pogue. The film was released on April 10, 2014 in the United Kingdom and April 25, 2014 in the United States. Lionsgate was the company behind the release of the film.

It stars Jared Harris as a college professor attempting to create a poltergeist. The film is loosely based on the Philip experiment, a 1972 parapsychology experiment conducted in Toronto.

The Quiet Ones put up normal boxoffice numbers beinng a horror category film by grossing $3,880,053 in its opening weekend. As of May, the Total Domestic Gross of the film is $8,050,503 and the total Worldwide Gross stands at $10,918,503.

Synopsis:

Tucked away in an estate outside of London, Professor Coupland along with a team of university students conduct an "experiment" on Jane Harper, a young girl who harbors unspeakable secrets. What dark forces they uncover are more terrifying than any of them expected.

MPAA Rating:

PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and terror, sexual content, thematic material, language, and smoking throughout.
